Some of Tucson's own, notorious monsters who inspired four feature films will also be highlighted. A guided, informative hotel tour by Harold Garland is included with admission.

New York City’s Unsane assisted in pioneering a more aggressive, less studied version of noise rock, one that blended the scum/art industrial sturm und drang of Foetus, the Swans, Einsturzende Neubauten, and Sonic Youth with a decidedly more straightforward hardcore idiom. The band is bringing their hammering, power-press rhythms, searing Telecaster howls, and distorted vocals that resembled a chainsaw cutting a steel beam to the Club Congress stage and we can't wait! Supporting them are Plaque Marks from Philadelphia and Sorxe from Phoenix.

ChamberLab Vexations Marathon

ChamberLab Vexations Marathon

Vexations is a piece of music written by French composer Erik Satie in 1893. It's only about a minute long, but Satie left a note at the top of the page suggesting that the piece should be played eight-hundred and forty times in a row. That's exactly what ChamberLab, Tucson's only alternative chamber musicians, intend to do. Perform the piece, sponsor a musician to benefit the ACLU, or come watch all of some of the show -- this will certainly be a performance to remember!
