Dreamdecay live in their own liminal zone: too punk for psych, and too far out for punk. Armed with angular post-punk riffs and rapid-fire bursts of noise that recalls the best of Arizona’s own Destruction Unit, the Seattle, Washington natives craft pop dirges of the highest caliber. See them (FOR FREE) alongside the agoraphobic shoegaze of Hikikomori and Tempe no-wavers, Soft Shoulder.

El Tambó Fest, Night Two: Tropical DJ Massive

It’s never been done before! DJ’s and artists from both coasts and the southwest converge in Tucson for a massive night of cumbia, reggaetón, dancehall, moombahton, afrobeats and puro baile! We spotlight the important, young tropical / latinx cultural movement in Tucson and the US, putting emphasis on the relevance of diaspora and the critical contributions of women, queer artists and people of color.

Dave Ross is a comedian based in Los Angeles, CA and he is no stranger to the big stage. Vans Warped Tour, Fest, SXSW, The Hollywood Improv, SF Sketchfest, The Bridgetown Comedy Festival and your basement are just a few of the places he’s done stand-up. He’s a Moth Grand Slam winner. He’s been on This is Not Happening, Drunk History, WTF with Marc Maron and so much more. Joining him on this tour is Chris Charpentier, an equally talented laugh-inducer who made his network television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Catch the duo with an incredible line up of local support from Chris Thayer, Kristine Levine and Pauly Casillas!

Pink Mexico

Pink Mexico started as the fuzzed out solo project of Robert Preston and has grown into a garage punk force to be reckoned with. Part of the Burger crew, Pink Mexico will be touring as a three-piece, hitting the Club Congress stage for the first time. Check them out for a night of free music!

Spring Concert Series: Bad News Blues Band

Local Tucson group, Bad News Blues Band, has been gaining a reputation for house burning live performances all over the United States as well as Canada, Mexico, Turkey, Romania, Ireland, the U.K. and even Moscow Russia! With their latest ARV Records release, “Live at Hot Licks” produced by Steve Grams and Mike Blommer, they’re set to hit the road and spread the word with the fire and intensity that their live shows are renowned for worldwide. This band is on the move with a smoking hot rhythm section, sweet smoldering horns, blistering guitar, and an impressive frontline of dynamic vocals, that is sure to Knock You Out!

Hipster Daddy-O and the Handgrenades

Hipster Daddy-O and the Handgrenades return to the stage after a 10-year absence for a FREE, one-night reunion show on the indoor stage at Club Congress to celebrate their 21 year anniversary! Voted Best Live Performance (1998) and Best Swing Band five years in a row by the Tucson Area Music Awards (1998-2002), their music has been featured in the Jim Carrey movie “Me Myself and Irene” as well as the 2000 Summer Olympics. Joining them for this special event are 2016 KFMA Day winners, The Endless Pursuit.

Scottish indie-pop legends The Trashcan Sinatras hit the road for a 6 week acoustic tour in North America! “One Night, Two Albums” will see the three piece lineup (Frank, John and Paul) play albums “Cake” and “I’ve Seen Everything” in their entirety, plus a selection of songs from the rest of the band’s catalog.

Local songwriter Jacob Acosta’s upcoming release, Desert Sounds, is a record about Arizona’s culture, ecology, history, and the stories and folklore he holds dear to his heart. Joining him for the release celebration are local favorites Leila Lopez and her killer band, as well as Jillian and the Giants.
