Logan Phillips is a bilingual poet, performer and transdisciplinary artist born in Tombstone, Arizona. Of Irish-Slavic descent, he spent the first eighteen years of his life fourteen miles from the United States-Mexico border.

He graduated cum laude from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Spanish and worked as a professor of Latin American literature, culture and translation at Universidad Internacional in Cuernavaca, Morelos before dedicating himself full-time to artistic endeavors. His former students also include third-graders, high schoolers and multinational business executives.

Phillips competed in four National Poetry Slams in the US 2002-2005 and co-hosted the first Mexican National Poetry Slam in 2007. He is author and publisher of five poetry chapbooks, the latest of which, Arroyo Ink has been hailed as an underground success and an antidote to mass-market publishing.

Also in 2007 Logan co-founded the multimedia performance collective Verbo•bala with video artists Adam Cooper-Terán and Moisés Regla. The international group pioneers what they call spoken video, a combination of live video projections and bilingual spoken word, creating site-specific performance art and installation. Logan also frequently DJ’s with the group’s party side project, Sonidero Verbo•bala.

Both with the group and solo, Logan has toured across the United States and Mexico, and in cities as far afield as Vancouver, Paris, Oaxaca, Bogotá and Penzance, England. When not touring Logan splits his time between Arizona and Mexico City.

chicha dust

Chicha Dust is the side project of Brian Lopez, Gabriel Sullivan, Winston Watson, Geoff Hidalgo, Jason Urman and Efren Cruz Chavez.  They perform their own psychedelic blend of classic Cumbia songs sprinkled with fun, creative originals.   With two sets of dancy, psychedelic madness and a slammin cumbia dance DJ set in between, Chicha Dust is sure to have the club shakin’.
