MyTown Music

MyTown Music began with a dream, a ruffled journal and a finely tuned sense of passion.

The MyTown Music vision was inspired by founder, Corey Ferrugia, in 2009 as a response to the impact of budget cuts on arts education. MyTown Music seeks to create a scalable and sustainable solution that caters to artistic growth and education in our communities. In a 2011 Study released by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, Arizona ranks second to last in school spending. In fact, school spending per student in Arizona has decreased with inflation by 24% since the beginning of the recession in 2008.

As we consider the current conditions of our educational system, it is possible that all government funded music education opportunities will be completely removed from public schools in America by the year 2015. Financial cuts to education directly affect the quality of education that children and young adults receive, and our aim at MyTown is to provide an affordable, interactive experience to enable and encourage ongoing arts education.

1. Aptitude: Just as any other language, music is taught and learned just the same. We provide a foundation in order to express and communicate freely through the language of music.

2. Performance: The primary reward of learning how to express yourself as a music artist is when an audience affirms your artistry. Be it in a private or public setting, we are constantly creating opportunities for students to be celebrated throughout the community.

3. Capture: The most exciting and engaging element to the MyTown Music learning experience is that every student is able to record their progress through video and audio recording. MyTown Music Artist Specialists and staff provide the rewards and incentives of learning music by ensuring that each student receive a product of their completed original work.
