SAAF invites you to attend the next SAAF STARZ! We are thrilled to announce that Hotel Congress will host this 21+ event to benefit SAAF! Doors open at 6:00pm and the show starts at 6:30pm.

SAAF STARZ is a fundraiser that puts SAAF staff in drag under the tutelage of established drag queens from our local community. All money raised at SAAF STARZ goes directly to the programs and services of the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation, which includes care services for people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS, HIV prevention and education outreach, and engagement and support for the LGBTQ community.

Event Host: Jenna DuMay

Michael Lopez, Associate Director of LGBTQ Prevention Services as Mizz Michael

SAAF Staff Competing for the Crown:
Rich Clark, Director of Human Resources
London Arango, Case Manager
Juan Nuñez, Bilingual Linkage Liaison
Chris Charles, Statewide Housing Program Manager

Crown Step Down: Travis Craddock (Traja Day), Director of Development, Reigning Miss SAAF STARZ

The Mentors:
Raquel Blanco, Miss Gay Queen of The Desert America 2018

Tabitha McKenzie, “Pink is her Signature Color”

The event is free to attend but please bring your 1’s, 5’s, 10’s and even 20’s to tip your favorite drag queens! Proceeds from this particular event will benefit the Syringe Access Program (SAP) at SAAF.

The Syringe Access Program increases access to sterile syringes and other harm reduction supplies; provides HIV and Hepatitis C counseling and testing; links participants to care, treatment and other social services; and offers comprehensive health education and prevention services.

Clients who visit SAP have the opportunity to dispose of used syringes and receive new, sterile syringes. We also offer other supplies such as cookers, sterile water, wound care, and hygiene items. All of these items are important in preventing infection and increasing the health and quality of life of people who inject drugs.
