($20-$30 tickets | 6:30pm & 8:30pm Shows) Making his Century Room debut as a bandleader, trombonist Ben Constantinides brings us a show dedicated to the music of trombone great JJ Johnson! Expect music from his seminal recording “Blue Trombone”, plus other classic JJ repertoire.

An accomplished multi-instrumentalist, Ben serves as the Music Director for the St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church as well as 2nd trombone chair and Band manager for the Century Jazz Orchestra!

Often referred to as the “Charlie Parker of the trombone” due to his uncanny musical dexterity and fluency, James Louis “J.J.” Johnson dominated his instrument for more than 40 years, and was known as a potent composer and arranger. He was a perennial jazz magazine poll winner for his peerless trombone playing.
