Armen Donelian Trio: The Stargazer

($15-$25 tickets | 7pm & 9pm sets) The classically trained Donelian has spent most of his life as part of New York City’s vibrant music scene where he has collaborated with jazz greats such as Sonny Rollins, Eddie Gomez, Billy Hart, Bill Stewart, Mark Mommaas and more. On faculty at William Paterson University and the New School for Contemporary Music in New York, Donelian now spends part of his time in Tucson (this will be his first August!) He recently released a trio record with Jay Anderson and Dennis Mackrel, which performed two sold out shows at the Tucson Jazz festival in January. This performance will feature his Tucson trio of Scott Black and Arthur Vint playing original arrangements of classic jazz standards.
