Hot Club of Tucson featuring Howard Alden

This week features guitar great Howard Alden! Howard is recognized as a “Modern Maestro”, one of Downbeat’s 75 Great Guitarists! Celebrated for his virtuosic technique and deep understanding of the genre’s rich history, Alden has performed with jazz legends such as Dizzy Gillespie, Woody Herman, Red Norvo and many more earning a reputation as one of the leading voices in contemporary jazz guitar. His mastery of both traditional and modern styles, combined with his exceptional improvisational skills, has made him a sought-after collaborator and solo artist. He was chosen to provide the soundtrack for Woody Allen’s film “Swet & Lowdown” playing in the style of Django Reinhardt.
The group plays jazz manouche in the style of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappeli. The band starts at 6:30pm. Every other Wednesday!

Every 1st, 3rd & 5th Wednesday, the Mysterious Babies perform music from New Orleans & Chicago. 2nd and 4th Wednesdays are reserved for the Hot Club of Tucson, which performs French Jazz Manouche in the style of Django Reinhardt & Stéphane Grappelli.*
