Songwriter Saloon hosted by Mamma Coal feat. Steff Koeppen
(No Cover GA / $10 Reserved / 7pm) Club Congress presents a monthly Songwriter Saloon in the Century Room! Hosted by Mamma Coal with monthly special guests. This month is pianist and singer/songwriter Steff Koeppen.
**Mamma Coal**
Mamma Coal is a hard gigging country musician and mother of two in Tucson, Arizona. She writes songs meant to move people, both emotionally and physically. She has been particularly inspired by Tucson’s country dance community. Her upcoming album DANCE HALL CRUSH is due out Spring of 2023 and will be a collection of original western dance songs including two-step, waltz, west-coast swing and line dances. LEAD HER ON and GHOST TOWN GET DOWN are clear demonstrations of the artistry and skill she and her band bring to the table–and the dance hall.
She has hosted many songwriter nights around Tucson and now brings her skills to the Century Room.
**Steff Koeppen**
Steff Koeppen is a singer and songwriter from Tucson, Arizona. She started writing songs and performing with bands around Arizona as a teenager. Since 2009, Steff has fronted alternative pop group Steff and the Articles, which has released four albums, toured in the US and Mexico, and saw rotation of their song “Two Cities” on mtvU. In 2014, Steff was the featured vocalist on indie rock band Copeland’s record, Ixora. In 2015, Steff launched her solo electro-pop project with the debut single, “Celebrate,” and the Game We Play EP to follow. She released full length album, Timekeeper, in September of 2017 with Steff and the Articles. In the Fall of 2018, Steff won first place in the Passport to Nashville songwriting competition with her song “Corner of the World” (off Timekeeper). She released the single and art-song, “Comfortable,” in the Fall of 2020. Steff continues to perform around the Southwest region and is working on new music from her home studio.
