($10-$15 Tickets + DICE fees | 9pm Show) Space Travelers Union Presents: Bailey Zick’s New Steel Sound

Bailey Zick is a multi-instrumentalist and composer/improviser from Phoenix, Arizona. His technical ability and intuitive approach to improvisation has wowed audiences across the United States, Central America, and Europe. He has performed and/or recorded with artists such as Adam Levy (Norah Jones, Tracy Chapman), Rich Hinman (Sara Bareilles, Vulfpeck), John Dietrich (Deerhoof), Lewis Nash, Wheelwright, Alex Oliverio, Mario Why, and is a member of New York City based Cumbia band Los Esplifs.

Bailey Zick’s New Steel Sound presents an evening of Americana-laced instrumentals, and boundary pushing experimentation led by the Pedal Steel Guitar. Rounding out the band is longtime collaborator Alex Oliverio (Guitar), and some of Tucson’s finest in Ryan Wheless (Saxophone), Colin Mccilrath (Bass) and Kenji Lancaster (Drums)

This performance is presented as part of the ongoing Space Travelers Union Presents residency at the Century Room.

Space Travelers Union is a creative-musician collective formed in the Arizona desert through the meeting of composition, improvisation, and electronic signal. The project has reached international audiences through BBC6, Radio France’s FIP, JazzFM, and Gilles Peterson’s WorldwideFM, with additional recognition from Bandcamp’s “New and Notable” and YouTube Music’s Jazz Hotlist.
