**The Adams Quartet**
The Adams quartet stems from the merger of two New York-based projects from pianist, Nicki Adams – the Prism trio and the Nicki and Patrick Adams duo. Co—led by brothers Nicki and Patrick, the quartet expands upon the synthesis of classical and jazz styles Patrick and Nicki developed on their album, Lynx (Sunnyside records 2021) of which reviewer, Maruizio Zerbo, wrote at All About Jazz: “With this record, the two New York musicians demonstrate that they are getting out of the cage (now in fashion) of the canonical jazz reinterpretation, going beyond the limits of diligent work and respect for tradition. They are undoubtedly personalities of great musical depth, destined to keep themselves out of the conventions in force.” Joined by bassist Eddy Khaimovich and drummer Evan Hyde, who have performed with a veritable “who’s who” in the jazz world including Roy Hargrove, James Moody, Fred Hersch and Paquito D’Rivera (to name a few), the quartet adds a deep conversational rapport to the orchestral complexity of the ensemble. In their own sound and their work in the Adams quartet, Nicki, Eddy, Patrick and Evan have carved a path for the merger of Cuban, African, American and European musical traditions that represent the fabric of life in NYC. Their work reflects their passion for craft, innovation and joy.
