Tucson Folk Fest Presents: Songwriter Roundtable

($10-$15 tickets | 6pm doors / 7pm show) Tucson Folk Fest presents a monthly Songwriter Roundtable with rotating special guests. This month we welcome Freddy Parish, Joshua Butcher, and Eric Schaffer.

**Freddy Parish**

Freddy Parish is an award winning singer/songwriter, guitarist and banjo player out of Tucson, AZ. His most recent EP “A Cold July” blends old time, bluegrass and classic country and was described by For Folk Sake as “a mix of lyrical brains and musical brawn.” He has opened for The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and Marty Stuart.

**Joshua Butcher**

Born in Yuma to a Mississippi family, Joshua Butcher is a multi-genre vocalist with roots in gospel and country music. He has a distinctly unique gift of voice that fans have described as a soothing warmth and welcome that “just feels like it’s everywhere.” Joshua’s lyrics are heartfelt and emoting, with creative turns of phrase that harken back to the traditions of classic country songs.

Joshua is known for his works in the Americana band ‘The Tangelos’, the ukulele folk-rock band ‘Little Cloud’, the New Orleans themed ‘Muffulettas’, the annual Celtic themed band the ‘Lucky Ones’, and back-up vocals and ukulele for Tucson’s darling, ‘Loveland.’ His current project is the powerhouse roots-rock band, ‘Barnaby and the Butcher’ which released two albums in the last year.

**Eric Schaffer**

Raised in the swamps of New Jersey, Eric Schaffer has been recognized as one of Southern Arizona’s favorite singer/songwriters. He has been a finalist in the Great American Song Contest, the Passport To Nashville songwriting contest, a four-time Tucson Folk Festival songwriting competition finalist, and the winner of the 2022 Tumbleweed Music Festival songwriting contest.

His songs are sometimes sweet, sometimes melancholy, sometimes funny, but always well crafted. Eric has performed throughout the US and has opened shows for Clint Black, Blackberry Smoke, Marc Cohn and Lonestar.

He performs regularly in Southern Arizona with his band The Other Troublemakers.
