Tucson, AZ (November 3, 2015) The Hotel Congress Lobby Gallery is excited to host local artist Laura Wilson Etter as their November exhibit. She is showcasing her stunning painting series Medical Bodies. Etter believes the human body is amazingly complex and intricate, but also radiates beauty. Using vintage medical diagrams for inspiration, the pieces in this show aim to highlight the parts that make us all what we are, and possibly who we are. Etter’s artwork is available for purchase in the Hotel Congress lobby from November 11 through December 9. Join them for their Medical Bodies artist reception from 6 to 8p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015 in the Hotel Congress lobby.
Laura Wilson Etter is a mixed-media artist who lives in Tucson, Arizona. Building on a belief that we are all stewards of the past, Etter utilizes found materials and images to create work that exists in a space between creation and re-creation. Imagined through a uniquely Tucson-inspired lens, her work is layered and textured, like the city itself. She combines vintage ephemera, modern popular culture, and traditional imagery to tell a story that exists outside of any specific era.
