When we moved to Tucson
more than thirty years ago

I got a job as a dishwasher
at the Maynards restaurant

It was just across the street
opposite the Hotel Congress

We,  i.e. my mother and I
sat behind the main bar

It seemed so private & fun
Then, we shifted the front

Now that I’m long settled
We change back and forth
