***The Mercer Patterson Quintet is a contemporary jazz ensemble originating in the Metro-Detroit area, having recently transitioned to the East Coast. They play a variety of originals, written by all members of the band and are influenced by a wide range of styles and artists, including the music of Herbie Hancock, Frank Zappa, and Steve Lehman.***

***The Quintet has performed at several venues throughout the Ann Arbor-Metro Detroit Area, such as the Blue Llama, The Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe, The Blind Pig, and the Detroit Jazz Festival, as well as the Shapeshifter Lab in NYC. During the summer of 2023, The Quintet had the opportunity to participate in the esteemed Jazz Aspen-Snowmass Academy, led by Chuck Bergeron and Christian McBride, performing at numerous venues and recording a slew of new originals. Their newest single “Cloak and Dagger” is available on all streaming platforms.***
