Songwriter Saloon hosted by Mamma Coal ft. JD Graham & Leila Lopez
($7 Cover | 6pm doors / 7pm show) Club Congress presents a monthly Songwriter Saloon in the Century Room! Hosted by Mamma Coal with monthly special guests. This month Mamma Coal invites JD Graham and Leila Lopez
**Mamma Coal**
Mamma Coal is a hard gigging country musician and mother of two in Tucson, Arizona. She writes songs meant to move people, both emotionally and physically. She has been particularly inspired by Tucson’s country dance community. Her upcoming album DANCE HALL CRUSH is due out Spring of 2023 and will be a collection of original western dance songs including two-step, waltz, west-coast swing and line dances. LEAD HER ON and GHOST TOWN GET DOWN are clear demonstrations of the artistry and skill she and her band bring to the table–and the dance hall.
She has hosted many songwriter nights around Tucson and now brings her skills to the Century Room.
**JD Graham**
Jeremy Graham was born in Weatherford, Oklahoma and raised in a Hydro, a small town in central Oklahoma. He fell in love with music listening to his Grandma Babes records collection as a kid which included Debbie Boone and various other Country Gospel albums. His Dad’s music tastes also shaped his love for bands like Mountain, The Eagles and Genesis. “I still remember the 8 track tapes in that old Scout, I can still vividly see the album artwork and hear those melodies.”
**Leila Lopez**
Born and raised Tucsonan, Leila Lopez has been playing music for over 20 years. Her earliest memories include making up songs on the piano when she was just tall enough to reach the keys, and eventually branching out to learn a wide variety of different instruments. She first gained local attention after a friend dropped off her earliest recordings to a Tucson based newspaper, and there began her journey as a performer in cafes, bars and other venues in and around the Tucson area, slowly gathering recognition in the greater music community.
Leila writes and records her own songs, and often plays most of the instruments on her albums in a modest home studio in Tucson Arizona. Her music is influenced by everything from old Classic Rock, to Folk, Jazz, and of course the common ground we all walk together and apart, trying to put the pieces in place.
