Join billboard charting artist and born and raised Tucsonan, Lexa Raquel, for her very first EP release at the iconic Hotel Congress! Lexa is excited to share her self titled EP, not only because it’s her first, but also because of the incredible experience she had working with such talented musicians – Chris Peña(keys/synth), Alassane Diarra(piano), Patrick Morris(bass) and Desmond New(drums). Experience their take on a moody, psychedelic RnB with a touch of grunge alongside some of Tucson’s finest – Troy Cov(percussion), Max Goldschmid(trombone), Ryan Wheless(sax), Anthony Gibes(trumpet), Johnathan Black(guitar), background vocals with Erin Anderson(mezzo), Janée Page(soprano) and Sarah Tolar(alto) to transcend the EP live and give you a show you’ll be sad to miss! Lexa is thrilled with the finished product and can’t wait to celebrate with you in the club!
Lexa began singing and writing original music at age 5, but it wasn’t until she turned 16 that she officially stepped into her music career. By 18, shortly after graduating high school, she signed with an independent record label and recorded an album at the renowned Blackbird Studio in Nashville, TN. Unfortunately, that project was never released, and Lexa stepped away from music, putting her dreams on hold.
Over a decade later—after battling self-doubt and anxiety regarding the industry—Lexa is fearlessly returning to her “first love.” One of the most rewarding parts of the journey has been handpicking her bandmates and collaborating through the challenging yet inspiring process of creating new music together. She invited each musician to bring their own style and flavor to the project, all while honoring the vision she held—and they all delivered. Tremendous thanks to Penya Studios for capturing Lexa’s sound and enduring her insane method of production…
After Lexa’s EP debut, she looks forward to returning to the studio with her band to begin work on a full-length album.
