Maynards Market offers delicious house baked pastries, made-to-order sandwiches and salads, a carefully curated retail wine selection, and specialty coffee drinks.

Maynards Market & Kitchen is seeking a full time Sous Chef to work in our high-volume, upscale dining concept with multiple food outlets. The Sous Chef works with the Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine to manage the overall operations of the Restaurant and Market back of the house. The Sous Chef is expected to continue our standard for excellence in food quality, presentation and overall BOH organization, cleanliness, and efficiency. Any prospective Chef must have a voracious desire for constantly acquiring food knowledge, with a dedication to continuing education.

Job Responsibilities:

•Ensure customers receive perfect service through timely and accurate preparation of food
•Ability to work the line during busy meal periods with exceptional broiler and sauté cooking skills
•Exemplary butchering skills are mandatory
•Pastry/baking skills is a plus
•Build positive relationships with vendors and internal employees
•Promote a positive atmosphere for workers of all levels
•Ensure procedures and policies are adhered to
•Training, coaching, and corrective action
•Maintain Food and Labor Cost standards
•Menu cost and recipe development
•Maintain strict health code standards

Desired Skills and Experience:

•2 year culinary degree not required, but preferred
•3-5 years of experience in a from-scratch, high volume, upscale casual dining environment
•Menu development
