Alter Egos: Peter Saxe Quartet Plays the Music of Ellington & Strayhorn

($20-$30 | 7pm & 9pm Shows) Chicago-based pianist Peter Saxe returns to The Century Room with an all-star band as they play the music of Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn. Duke Ellington is largely regarded as the most important composer and bandleader in the history of jazz. Billy Strayhorn, his right-hand man, was an integral part of the sound and direction of the Ellington band, as he and the Duke worked together through the years composing and arranging together. The story of both of these composers is intertwined, culminating in an incredible career of music that the Peter Saxe quartet will bring to life on the Century Room stage.
