($20-$30 tickets | 7pm & 9pm shows) Tucson alto saxophone superstar Eric Nakanishi is back from a summer in NYC and has been tearing up the scene with his playing. This time he’s joined by Angelo Versace, Scott Black and Arthur Vint as they play Eric’s original compositions and through a selection of classic favorites.

**Eric Nakanishi**

Eric Nakanishi is a saxophonist and composer from Pleasant Hill, California. He began playing at age 9 and studied under mentors like Marcus Goodlow, Mary Fettig, and Alex Murzyn before attending Berklee College of Music. In Boston, he learned from renowned artists, including Ralph Peterson Jr., who immersed him in the music of Art Blakey. Eric played lead alto in Peterson’s “Gen-Next Big Band,” recording two albums: I Remember Bu: Alive Vol. 4 and Listen Up! After graduating, he released his debut album, Introducing, in April 2020, featuring original compositions. His second album, Breakout! Nakanishi Quartet Live at Bird & Beckett, was recorded in November 2021 and released in May 2022, which included artwork created by his father, John Nakanishi. Eric now resides in Tucson, Arizona.
