HOWARD ALDEN

Howard Alden is hailed as one of the finest jazz guitarists of his generation. Critics praise his virtuosity, creativity, and mastery of the seven-string guitar, which adds depth and richness to his sound. Born in 1958 in Newport Beach, California, he began playing at age 10, inspired by legends like Armstrong, Django Reinhardt, and George Van Eps. A Concord Jazz artist since the late ’80s, Alden’s prolific career includes collaborations with icons such as Benny Carter, Dizzy Gillespie, and Woody Herman.

Recognized by DownBeat as one of the 75 great guitarists, Alden continues to inspire as a true virtuoso.

TOM WAKELING

Bassist Tom Wakeling is renowned for his groove-rich bass lines and dynamic versatility. He has performed worldwide with jazz legends like Arturo Sandoval, Lee Konitz, Benny Golson, and Mel Tormé, and shared stages with top pianists and drummers. Wakeling’s “show biz” credits include Della Reese, Red Skelton, and national Broadway tours like Cats and Grease. An educator and recording artist, his latest works include albums with Rebecca Kilgore and Brad Turner.
