TJF presents FREE FRIDAY with Joe Fonda Quartet

(TJF FREE FRIDAY! | 7pm & 9pm shows) Join Century Room in welcoming bassist Joe Fonda and his band to the stage! Having shared the stage with such luminaries as pioneering saxophonist Anthony Braxton, Joe Fonda has brought his masterful bass playing to many venues and recording sessions world-wide. This is the first FREE FRIDAY event, made possible by the Tucson Jazz Festival.

**Joe Fonda, a multifaceted artist, excels as a composer, bassist, recording artist, interdisciplinary performer, producer, and educator. Internationally recognized in jazz, Fonda has graced stages across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia, collaborating with luminaries like Anthony Braxton, Archie Shepp, and Dave Douglas. Notably, Fonda’s tenure with the Anthony Braxton ensemble, from 1984 to 1999, marked significant contributions as both bassist and board member, including his role as President of the Tri-Centric Foundation. His compositional prowess, acknowledged through grants and commissions, is evident in his twelve solo recordings, reflecting a diverse range of influences from tap dance to Peking opera.**
