($25-$35 + Dice Fees | 6:30pm & 8:30pm Shows | 16+) Mexican born, Los Angeles based bassist Mauricio Morales brings a trio of upright bass, alto saxophone, and drums to the Century Room for a night of original music, joined by Devin Daniels (Herbie Hancock, Gerald Clayton, Carlos Niño) on alto and Nate Friedman (Sun Speak) on drums.
Morales is in constant demand as a sideman in LA’s flourishing jazz scene, known for his command of both the upright and electric bass traditions and the songwriter’s sense of structure he brings to his own writing. His influences run from Pat Metheny and Brad Mehldau to Peter Gabriel and Sting.
He leads the albums Luna, Eclipse, The Endless Ride, and Seven Days, and appears on a new collaborative release “Between Dreams and Twilight” with pianist Adam Hersh alongside guitarist Mike Moreno, vibraphonist Warren Wolf, and drummer Gary Novak.
