Recipe: Peach Basil Agua Fresca

We’ve planted new fresh herbs, including flat leaf parsley, cilantro, and basil in the Maynards Organic Garden & Grove! We are finding new, creative ways to use the herbs from our garden, like our daily agua frescas! Every day, we have a different agua fresca available in the market. Stop by and take a look at how are new planted herbs are growing, and enjoy the daily agua fresca! For the days you can’t quite make it, here’s a recipe you can try at home!

Peach Basil Agua Fresca

Yield: 6 cups

6 peaches, peeled and chopped
½ c basil leaves
¼ c sugar
¼ c lemon juice
2 ½ c water
Basil leaves for garnish, if desired

1. In a blender, puree the peaches with the basil leaves, sugar, and lemon juice to a smooth puree.
2. Combine this puree in a large jug with the water, ice cubes, and additional basil for garnish. Serve immediately.
