Gabrielle Pietrangelo with Leila Lopez
Tucson folk fixtures Gabrielle Pietrangelo and Leila Lopez join forces on the indoor stage at Hotel Congress. (Seated show)
Gabrielle Pietrangelo’s desert inspired indie-folk has been evolving in the Tucson region for two decades. Recently returning to solo songwriter roots after years in harmony-based collaborations, Gabrielle is currently working on a full-length solo album to be released in 2023. Driven by guitar and ethereal vocals, Gabrielle’s music holds themes of nature, image invoking lyrics and personal spirituality.
Native Tucsonan Leila Lopez has been playing music for over 20 years. She first gained local attention after a friend dropped off her earliest recordings to a Tucson based newspaper, and there began her journey as a performer in cafes, bars and other venues in and around the Tucson area, slowly gathering recognition in the greater music community. Leila writes and records her own songs, and often plays most of the instruments on her albums in a modest home studio in Tucson Arizona. Her music is influenced by everything from old Classic Rock, to Folk, Jazz, and of course the common ground we all walk together and apart, trying to put the pieces in place.
