Welcome everyone who Van Christian loved and hated! Come celebrate my dad’s life at Hotel Congress, on Friday, August 5th at 6pm.
Yes, Congress green-lit the tap room and outdoor patio area for all us to mourn our losses and celebrate the man and the myth. We’ll raise glasses and make toasts to his saucy wit and giant heart, his love of trouble and merry-making.
The last thing my dad would want would be folks moping around some depressing rent-a-chapel and whispering weepy condolences before heading our separate ways. Hell, he’d be grouchy with us honoring him in any way. But we have to share his stories and listen to his music because we all miss him so damn much. So let us make it an evening of revelry that he himself might even show up for.
